Short Answers
The short answer is formed with the pronoun plus the auxiliary. (Negative or Affirmative)
Examples:
You're a doctor, aren't you?
Yes, I am.
He studies at the university, doesn't he?
Yes, he does.
She came to school on the bus, didn't she?
Yes, she did.
He will be absent tomorrow, won't he?
Yes, he will.
They have been studying here for 2 years, haven't they?
Yes, they have.
You can speak French, can't you?
Yes, I can.
The children aren't asleep now, are they?
No, they aren't.
He doesn't have a car, does he?
No, he doesn't.
She didn't read the story, did she?
No, she didn't.
