Instructions. Change the active sentences to passive. In some cases, you can include by + the agent as in Example 2.
Example 1: They are cleaning the house.

Example 2: The police found the stolen car.

Simple Present Time
Active: The mailman delivers the mail.
Passive: The mail is delivered by the mailman.
Present Continuous
Active: They are painting the building.
Passive: The building is being painted.
Future
Active: They will clean the rooms tomorrow.
Passive: The rooms will be cleaned tomorrow.
Active: They are going to fix the bridge this weekend.
Passive: The bridge is going to be fixed this weekend.
Simple Past
Active: They built a new sidewalk.
Passive: A new sidewalk was built.
Past Continuous
Active: They were cleaning the apartment.
Passive: The apartment was being cleaned.
Present Perfect
Active: I have done my class assignments.
Passive: My class assignments have been done.
Present Modals
Active: You should do the work.
Passive: The work should be done.
Active: You cannot take pictures in the museum.
Passive: Pictures cannot be taken in the museum.
Past Modals
Active: You shouldn't have left the milk out of the refrigerator.
Passive: The milk shouldn't have been left out of the refrigerator.
Active: You should have done your homework before coming to class.
Passive: Your homework should have been done before coming to class.
Active: They could have finished the work but it rained.
Passive: The work could have been finished but it rained.
Future Modals
Active: They will have completed the work by next Friday.
Passive: The work will have been completed by next Friday.
They are building a new highway.
They will review the test tomorrow.

They are going to do the project.
